Overview
Making this tour great involves many dedicated volunteers.  Non of the positions we offer are difficult but they all take time.  And we know that everyone would rather be riding and that's what we want for you too.
We have 2 different kinds of volunteer positions.  Pre-ride and During the ride.

Pre-ride positions
Route scouting/marking. Each volunteer is responsible for one day's route. In return, you're invited to ride every day at the Mass BikePike Tour.
This involves

   Scouting our routes in June to

  • make sure there are know issues and make corrections to cue sheets as necessary and

  • identify points of interest, swimming holes, toilets, restaurants, convenience stores on or close to the route.

   Arrowing routes 2 weeks before the event.

    At the Mass BikePike Tour

  • be an ambassador at camp and

  • be we willing to lend a hand when we need extra hands..

During the ride positions
Each of these positions is work a day/ride a day.

  1. Position: SAG* (aka "Support And Gear" vehicle): Drive sag vehicles to support bicyclists on route (first aid kits, floor pumps, water, sag, etc.).

  2. Rest Stop: Set up rest stop(s) cut up fruit, snacks, provide anti-bacterial gel/utilize sanitary gloves, etc.

  3. Truck Driver*: Help load luggage in the morning, drive to next stop, help unload luggage.

  4. Information: Staff information table morning (7-9am) and afternoon/evening (1-7pm). Help with loading and unloading of the truck and any set-up.

  5. Breakfast/Dinner setup: Set up and serve breakfast, set-up and breakdown of dinner, help load and unload truck.

  6. Shuttle: Provide shuttle service to hotels and into town, morning and evening.  Make runs for supplies as necessary.

* Sag, Shuttle and Truck drivers requires a drivers license.  We will need your drivers license # to submit to our insurance provider.  Preference given to people who will donate use of their car (reimbursement for gas and tolls).
